Where To Go When You Need To Sleep
August 18, 2008
If you suspect that you may have a sleep breathing disorder, the first step in getting solutions is to get a formal sleep study. However, there are so many sleep study centers these days all touting different benefits, it's unclear which one of them is right for you. Listed below are 5 sleep study centers I refer patients to most often. They are not ranked in any particular order nor do I get any favors for recommending one over the other. However, all of them were chosen based on four criterias: * Location: How close and easy is it to get to using mass transit? Also, is the area relatively safe with updated facilities? * Clinical Reputation: How well trained and up to date are their physicians on treating patients with sleep disorders? * Insurance Participation: The more insurances these facilities accepted the more accessibility and affordability they afford my patients. Especially when sleep studies can run anywhere from $1,200 to $2,500. * Patient/Physician Feedback: Since these centers are not affiliated with my practice in any way, the best way to know which centers work best for patients is by word of mouth. There are several centers because of what patients had said were taken off the list. Top Five Sleep Study Centers 1.
